Position Description

JOB TITLE

  Associate Manufacturing Engineering/Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

  Perform variety of instructional manufacturing engineering and supervisory assignments within a manufacturing management development program.

SOURCE OF DIRECTION

  Designated Manufacturing Manager

Responsibilities
1.
Uses AUTOCAD to design and make drawings for parts, tools, and equipment.
2.
Uses available sources of information to design, specify, and source parts, tools and equipment.
3.
Investigates various types of machining - recognizes problems and probable corrective action. Programs CNC machines.
4.
Uses pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, electronics and PLC/PC equipment and systems in resolving production problems.
5.
Identifies and analyses manufacturing problems. Evaluates, identifies, and specifies requirements for best solution to the problem.
6.
Implements specifies solutions for manufacturing problems including make/buy decision, design, fabrication, testing, documentation, and training with respect to required equipment.
7.
Schedules production and achieves objectives with respect to safety, quality, quantity, service, and cost.
8.
Supervises and schedules people, including: hiring, training, discipline, problem resolution, policy administration, and performance evaluation.
9.
Identifies, analyses, justifies, and implements manufacturing cost reductions.
10.
Oversees introduction of new product into manufacturing, including ECR's routings documentation, final performance, cost, budgeting, staffing and training.
11.
Supervises shipping/receiving/stock and Quality Control functions, maintaining necessary procedures and documentation.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with an interest in pursuing a career in production operations and supervision leading to management.
